Someone (you know who you are) has been sending me many useless questions. OK, fine… I’ll play. Here are your answers. If you have more questions, then feel free to send them.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

What are you hobbies?

I enjoy writing and oil painting, but I do not get the time to do either these days.  I probably would with the right inspiration, so perhaps I need a muse.  I’m also a big film buff, and I’m studying the Korean language recreationally.

What is one goal that you’d like to accomplish in your lifetime?

I would like to get all of my daughters through college with as little post-graduation debt as possible.

If you won a million dollars, what would you do with it?

Invest. I’d need to make that money grow. $1M doesn’t go as far as it used to.

If you could transport yourself anywhere instantly, where would you go and why?

Home… for a nap.

If you could have only have 3 different meals for the rest of your life, which foods would you choose?

Pizza with Sausage and Black Olives, my bride’s Tuna Noodle casserole, and Jjajangmyeon ( 짜장면 ) with a side of beef

What is the worst thing that you’ve ever eaten?

My mother’s stuffed peppers will probably be forever ranked as the most revolting thing I’d ever been forced to eat as a child. It was not the food, but the way that she prepared them that would make them so unappetizing. Even to this day, just the thought of putting them in my mouth will initiate a gag reflex.

Who is your favorite book / movie / TV series? Favorite actor / actress?

My favorite film is “The Great Escape”, and my favorite TV series is “Firefly”.

My favorite book is a tough one… I’d have to say that it is a 3-way toss-up between “Kidnapped” by Robert Louis Stevenson, “Starship Troopers” by Robert A. Heinlein, and “Master and Commander” by Patrick O’Brian.

As for the actors, well… my attention often shifts like the tide. At the time I am writing this, I’m obsessed with the westerns of James Stewart and the dramatic works of Gong Hyo Jin.

What is your favorite website?

Wikipedia. Can’t you tell that already?

Who is your favorite superhero and why?

Peter Parker. Sure, I could have said Spider-Man… but there appears to be more than one these days, and I don’t want any confusion here. The original Spider-Man, Peter Parker, is my superhero of choice.

Star Trek or Star Wars?

Star Trek.  No contest.

Tell me one fact about yourself that no one outside your house would probably know.

I really enjoy watching foreign television, especially shows from South Korea.  Some personal favorites include… Pasta, Yi San, and Running Man.

If you could have any question answered, what would it be?

Shhh!  Did you hear that?

Favorite Food to Eat?

I think I already answered this question, but… Jjajangmyeon ( 짜장면 ) with a side of beef!

Favorite alcoholic beverage?

What’s Tuaca?  Don’t feel bad.  Most of the folks don’t seem to know what it is right off either.  I always describe it as being “like Grand Marnier, but Vanilla”.  And BTW, many Tuaca fans seem to want to store it in the refrigerator to make sure that its served chilled, but I think that’s a mistake.  I prefer to store my Tuaca at room temperature, and then serve it over ice.  As the ice cools down the alcohol, it will gradually melt and slightly dilute the liquor.  This will take away the harsh bite of the beverage and just leave you with tons of flavor.

Crash with Friends or Stay in a Hotel

Definitely a Hotel.  I tend to feel like I’m an intruder when I sleep over in someone’s home… plus, I’m told that I snore.

High Five?!

No… nor do I ever fist-bump anyone.  I *will* leave you hanging.

Watch or play sports?

Read a book.  Honestly, I’ve never been too interested in sports, but I do occasionally enjoy watching ice hockey.

Would you rather clean the bathroom, mow the lawn, wash the dishes, or vacuum the house?

I find washing the dishes to be very relaxing.  I didn’t choose the other 3 options, because… the mess in the bathroom isn’t mine, my asthma kicks up when I mow, and vacuums are just too loud.

What is your dream job?

Space Trucker.

If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to?

I’d probably go back to about 2010.  Due to a strike at work, I had to spend a lot of time at work, and had to send my wife and daughters off on a vacation cruise without me… and I’d probably want to buy some Bitcoin.

What’s the longest you’ve gone without sleep (and why)?

Once, back in the very early ’90s, I had stayed up for about 80 or so hours.  During one college semester, I was strapped for time to finish writing a few papers and needed to study for my finals… so I lived on sugar and caffeine for about 3+ days.  After my last exam, I knew that my body was shutting down and that I wouldn’t make it home safely.  So instead of trying, I walked out to the parking lot around 11am, parked my car under a shady tree, cracked a window, and passed out.  When I awoke, it was about 2am… and there was a note from campus security on my windshield asking me to not do it again.  🙂
